Who needs PGS?
- Advanced maternal age (Age > 38 years )
- Recurrent miscarriages
- Previous chromosomally abnormal pregnancy
- Recurrent implantation failure (Repeated failed embryo transfer cycles despite of putting good embryos)
How is PGS Done?
- PGS involves the screening of embryos created through IVF to identify genetic abnormalities or chromosomal disorders
- Embryo biopsy- A small sample of cells is extracted and analyzed from each embryo for genetic analysis
- The results of PGS can help identify the healthiest embryos for transfer to the uterus
